New Town Success Zone

new-town-success-zone-established-2009-77877804New Town Success Zone is a partnership of public and private organizations that are developing a continuum of services to help children and their families living in the New Town neighborhood of Jacksonville, Florida, achieve the goals of healthy development, academic success and well-being of children.

The mission of the New Town Success Zone is to provide a place-based continuum of services from prenatal to college or post secondary training for the children and their families living in the neighborhood.

Motivating Youth at Risk for Obesity Through Multi-Level Community Activation

Summary
Conduct a series of qualitative and quantitative assessments among African American youth in order to understand specific motivators and barriers to a healthy lifestyle, in collaboration with the YMCA.
