Native American Interest Group to Discuss AICAF’s Strategies for Minimizing Health Disparities

By Silvana De Lorenzo

The April Native American Interest Group presentation, sponsored by Mayo Clinic's Native American Research Outreach program, will be held Tuesday, April 10, from noon to 1 p.m. at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Presenters will be Nurse Educator Lois Brown and Cancer Equity Manager Amber Ruffin of the American Indian Cancer Foundation (AICAF). AICAF is a national non-profit organization established to address cancer disparities in American Indian and Alaska Native populations by supporting innovative, community-based interventions that engage Native populations in the discovery of their own cancer best practices. OHDR has been a sponsor of AICAF’s largest annual fundraiser — Powwow for Hope — for six consecutive years.

Lunch will be provided for those who RSVP to Dr. Wes Petersen by email or phone at 507-266- 2204. Remote attendance is available. Learn more.
