Sisters Network Inc.
is committed to increasing local and national attention to the devastating impact that breast cancer has in the African American community. Through its affiliate chapters and partnerships with existing service providers, Sisters Network addresses the breast health needs of African American women and promotes establishment of much-needed community breast health services.

Collaborative Health Disparities Research Projects:

Barriers and Beliefs that Contribute to Late Stage Treatment of Breast Cancer in African American Women

Gerardo Colón-Otero, M.D.

Conduct focus groups with African American and low-income women residing in HZ1 to understand if there are existing cultural or access barriers that lead to late stage treatment of breast cancer.
