Community-based participatory research, immigrant and refugee health, health promotion among disparities, community health

Irene G. Sia, M.D., is a consultant in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Mayo Clinic and also works with various local community organizations and academic institutions in Rochester, Minnesota, to address health issues important to immigrant and refugee communities using a community-based participatory research (CBPR) approach. Dr. Sia collaborates with other institutions in the U.S. and abroad.

Dr. Sia’s research interests include: 1) community-based participatory research (CBPR) and 2) immigrant and refugee health. Her long-term goal is to promote community health and well-being, particularly among immigrant and refugee populations.
