4th Annual Health Equity Conference

4th Annual Arizona Health Equity Conference

Save-the-Date for the next Arizona Health Equity Conference on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Glendale Civic Center. More details to come soon. This past year’s 2016 conference was a great success! This statewide conference has attracted over 300 attendees each year, including physicians, nurses, researchers, clinicians, public health professionals, community health workers, social workers, and non-profit partners. Mayo Clinic has led a 14 non-profit membered Planning Committee, showing its commitment to reducing health disparities and promotion of health equity in our state. The leadership has now transitioned to Mercy Maricopa Integrated Care, who will lead the Planning Committee for the next three years, while Mayo Clinic remains on the Planning Committee with the other members who continue to demonstrate their own leadership in Arizona through their participation and involvement. With over 30 speakers, 15 exhibitors, and a new scientific poster sessions, every year continues to attract incredible participants highlighting the intersection between research, clinical care, prevention, and policy.  We hope to see you this year!

SAVE THE DATE:  2016 Arizona Health Equity Conference

We are pleased to share the Save-the-Date for the 3rd Annual Arizona Health Equity Conference on Thursday, October 20, 2016.  Mayo Clinic is one of 15 non-profit planning organizations who have come together to collaboratively plan this event. It will highlight the current health equity research, practice, and policy efforts taking place in Arizona, and facilitate innovative collaborations among new partners. The 350 anticipated attendees will include physicians, nurses, researchers, clinicians, public health professionals, community health workers, social workers, and non-profit partners. The Mayo Clinic team includes Dr. Scott Leischow (Lead Advisor), Marion Kelly (Conference Emcee), Chara Chamie and Farhia Omar (Planning Committee). Special thanks to leadership in the Office of Health Disparities Research.  We are now accepting proposals for Presentations and Posters through August 12th. All presentations and posters must be related to health equity to be considered, and will be reviewed in August after all submissions are gathered. To submit, click here.
